FEES & REBATES
Our sessions are typically 50 minutes in duration, and fees are payable at the time of consultation. Your exact costs will be dependent on your needs, and all costs will be advised prior to the initial consultation. See below our fees and Medicare rebates for each practitioner.
Please note that any appointments at 5pm or later and all Saturday appointments will incur a $10 surcharge across the service.
Understanding Medicare Safety Nets
At Lilley Place, we are committed to maximising access to our services for those who need them. With increases in the cost-of-living we thought our valued clients might appreciate some tips on how the Medicare Safety Net can help to ease some of the financial pressure of accessing services.
Medicare Safety Nets
Medicare Safety Nets exist to help to ease the cost of out-of-hospital care. If you require regular appointments, tests, or referrals, out-of-pocket expenses can quickly pile up. The Safety Net is there to ensure that when you most need care, you can still access it.
Here’s how it works:
- Each year, you will likely spend a certain amount of money in out-of-pocket expenses that are not covered by Medicare.
- Once you have spent a certain amount of money on out-of-pocket expenses in a single calendar year (January 1 – December 31), you reach the Safety Net Threshold.
- Once you have reached the Threshold, you will be eligible for higher Medicare Benefits on medical services – that is, you are eligible to have more of the cost of your appointments paid for by Medicare. This is generally 80% of out of pocket expenses for medical and allied health services (including psychology, dietetics, exercise physiology etc).
- Depending on your personal situation, the size of your threshold may vary, but everyone who is enrolled in Medicare is eligible for Medicare Safety Nets.
- If you are part of a family or a couple, you can combine your costs by registering as a family with Medicare.
Checking your Medicare Safety Net threshold
If your Medicare online account is linked to myGov, you can check your threshold amount there. You can also check via the Express Plus Medicare app, or by calling Medicare directly.
For more information on Medicare Safety Nets, including how to register as a family, you can visit the Services Australia website. Alternatively, please feel free to give us a call and speak to our friendly Client Services Team about how this might apply to your care at Lilley Place.
